Equestrian Event Facility
We regularly hold mixed discipline fun shows with classes ranging from hunter/jumper over fences, to egg races, and more! We’re also an ideal destination for clinicians of all disciplines thanks to our ample accomodations for both horse and rider.
People visit us from all throughout the region to experience smoky mountain trail rides and horseback riding. Our trails are some of the best in the area, varying in difficulty for riders of all experience levels. We also offer Smoky Mountain guided trail rides.
Trails are a mixture of single-track winding trials, running the ridge of Meadow Creek Mountain, with varied footing of packed clay, gravel mountain roads and grassy logging trails. We recommend foot protection.
Trails offer 1200–1800ft. elevation changes on a few loops, resulting in beautiful, scenic views of the valley.
Our airy 18-stall barn features both 12×21 stalls, as well as several oversized 12×24 stalls, with fans. Stalls along the exterior of the barn also feature private lockers to store your tack and equipment during your stay.
Paddocks are available for $40 per night for up to 4 horses, depending on availability. To request a paddock or overnight stall, simply let us know in your reservation form.
A large round pen and sand arena are available for schooling, with barrels, poles, and basic hunter/jumper style jumps available for your use.
Horse camping is also available, and all facilities are available for use by the day, based on availability. When booking online, simply choose from our equestrian add-ons like stalls, turnouts, bedding, hay, and more. You are also welcome to get in touch with us for assistance with booking your equestrian vacation.
Not traveling with your horse but want to experience the Cherokee National Forest on horseback? No problem! We have horses suitable for all levels and would be happy to arrange a ride with one of our guides. Just get in touch (or add a trail ride on to your reservation after completing your booking online! Please note, trail rides may not be available year-round)
At Meadow Creek Mountain Ranch we teach balanced seat riding skills that are appropriate for any style of riding. Once a student has a solid foundation, they can then work with our instructors who specialize in Western or English riding. We also teach horsemanship skills that come from things such as learning about the way horses think and interact, and there is always learning to be had playing and having fun with the horses!
While lessons are available for horse lovers as young as 6, we also offer personalized “horse experiences” that give the horse crazy kid in your life (no matter their age!) an unforgettable time interacting with our friendly horses here at the ranch.
For information on lessons or horse experiences, please get in touch with our team.
Our friendly team will be happy to point you in the right direction. Whether you’re interested in learning about hosting an equestrian event or you’d like to book a horse experience for the horse crazy kid in your life, just reach out. We’re here to help.
